Bread Pakora Recipe with Stuffed Potato and peas

Being an Indian, bread pakoda is one of the most favourite all time snack at my home, I love to eat it not only between meals but many a times it is my meal as well because it's that filling and yummylicious. I specially love devouring it in rainy season and it complements winter season as well, thinking about hot spicy bread pakoda in chili winter days is enough to make me crave for it real bad. It simply is pure heaven. Thinking about rains reminds me all different kind of pakodas my mummy makes like moong daal pakoda, mixed veg pakoda, onion potato pokada, cheesy bites. I simple relish that time.

I want to share the easy yet delicious recipe of delectable bread pakodas stuffed with potatos and peas.

INGREDIENTS (measuring:1 cup = 250 ml)

For the stuffing:
  • 3-4 pealed, boiled mashed potato.
  • 1 cup of boiled peas, squish it a little. You can use both frozen or fresh.
  • green chillies finely chopped (1 or 2 depending upon the spice you can handle)
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped coriander.
  • 1/2 tablespoon of red chilli powder (can alter according to your taste bud)
  • 1 tablespoon of chaat masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon of dry raw mango powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 black salt
  • salt to taste (you can use sea salt as well)
For batter :
  • 3 1/2 cup basen (chick pea flour)
  • pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon carom seeds
  •  6 slices of white or brown bread (any size)
  • water
  • salt to taste
  • oil
Have red chili sauce handy too.


For filling:

  •  Mix mash potatoes in a big bowl with mashed peas then mix it really well. Potatoes should be really well mashed, make sure not to leave it chunky.
  • Now add all the spices and coriander in the bowl
  • add salt to taste
  • now again mix it all well so that the mash is even and taste it, if you like it the leave it aside else add more spices according to your likings
For Batter :
  •  In a big bowl, take chick peas flour.
  • Add asafoetida, carom seeds, spices, and salt to it.
  • add around 1/2 cup of water and mix it well.
  •  Then keep adding water till it's not too thick but not too runny as well. Good enough to coat the bread slices. Keep stirring the batter using wisk.
  • Now add 1/2 tablespoon of oil to it and mix again so the batter is even.
  • keep the batter aside
  •  Put some oil on the stove to heat, for deep frying.
  • Slice the bread in triangular shape
  • now spread some red chili sauce on one side of a slice
  • spread the stuffing evenly
  • and generously over the sauce
  • now put another bread slice over it
  • then put the bread slices in the batter and coat it well from both the sides.
  • Put it into the hot oil and let it fry till the color goes slightly golden, make sure not to burn it.
  • Repeat the process for all the pakodas.
Serve hot with green mint chutney/tomato ketchup/ chili sauce and enjoy

Lauki ka Raita – Bottle Gourd with Yogurt

Lauki also called bottle gaurd is one of the most healthy vegetable, it can be consumed in many forms like it's sanzi or it's juice too but having it with yogurt is not only super healthy but also it tastes delicious and you don' need addition meal with it, you can have it with rice or chapati or just by itself.
It's refreshing and highly recommended for health conscious people.

  • 1 cup of bottle gourd grated
  • 2 cups of fresh yogurt
  • 2 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • pinch of asafetida
  • 2-3 teaspoon of coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of finely chopped ginger
  • salt to taste
Method :
  • heat the oil in a saucepan
  • meanwhile whip the yogurt into smooth consistency
  • Add cumin seeds and asafetida into the hot oil, once cumin sees splitter add copped green chillies
  • then add ginger till the raw smell of ginger is gone
  • then add grated bottle gourd into add and keep stirring until it becomes nice and soft
  • then switch off the flame
 Once lauki is chilled, add it to the yogurt and whisk It well again then put in refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Avocado dip recipe

Avocado is mainly found in South America and one of the key ingredient of Mexican cuisine, although it taste a little bald but with right seasoning it taste good and have many health benefits to add to it's uniqueness.
It's a very good source of vitamins, mineral and fibers.
Making an Avocado dip is pretty easy and it does well with tortilla chips, tacos and even Indian papads or fried rotis.

  • 1 big ripe avocado
  • 1 big juicy lime
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper
  • Mustard sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 pipe red firm tomato
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • Mixed herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chili flakes
Method :
  • Cut Avocado into half, remove it's seed then scoop out the ripe pulp into a bowl
  • now using a fork, mash it finely
  • deseed the tomato and finely chop it
  • now take some olive oil into a small bowl, add garlic paste, mustard, black paper, salt, herbs and freshly squeezed lime into it and whisk it so that it emulsifies
  • Then add this dressing into avocado mash 
  • add finely chopped tomatoes and mix it well
Now this simple super quick, extremely easy avocado dip is ready to be devoured.

Valentine's day - Love is in the air

Today is Valentine's day, a day dedicated for those who believe in true love, for those who believe in soul mates, for those who believe the more you love the more you grow because love nourishes not only your body but soul too. Love is the only medicine that can cure any condition, it can break you or make you and when it breaks you then you find the one who comes and mends you, the who stay with you forever. Love is selfless, love is eternal, love is that invisible force that is stronger than the gravitational force and I am truly blessed to have a person in my life who loves me and to whom I love with my heart and soul so today on valentine's day I want to thank him for being my best friend, for always having my back, for always caring and being at my side. For being himself and letting me being myself and bringing out the best in me.
I was existing before you my dear came into my life, now I am living a happy life. To me everything is now happy and joyous, I know I can face any mountain as long as I have you. We are a team, it's you and me against the world.
I promise I will never hurt you or break your trust because you mean a world to me.
